2017 Year in Awards

January 11, 2018

2017 Year in Award-Winning House Plans

In 2017 we had the privilege to be the recipients of several awards. While we feel all of our home plans are worthy of awards, we might be less than impartial. But we are especially proud of the plans that actually won awards in 2017.

Every year the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) holds its annual American Residential Design Awards (ARDA). This is their premier award program exhibiting design excellence in the residential building industry. It is designed to put a spotlight on the most creative and innovative residential designers, builders, re-modelers, architects, developers, land planners, and interior designers.

Judging is done by a panel of residential design and construction experts and is based on the quality of the entry. There are 13 different categories that work can be entered to compete in.

In 2017 we had two plans that won awards in the model home category. Model Homes can be an individually designed speculative home, builder’s inventory or a sales model. The home submitted for consideration must be a completed project, regardless of the date of completion.

The Benton House Plan

The Benton - ARDA Award-Winning House plan

The Benton is a contemporary house plan based on our most popular floor plan the Grimaldi Court. Its wide design makes it ideal for rear views. Bayed windows, French doors and zero corner sliding glass doors open wide to the rear verandah, bringing the outside in.

The Anvard House Plan

The Anvard - an award-winning house plan

The Anvard is a luxury, villa home plan, designed with a narrow lot in mind. This stunning Mediterranean house plan features 2779 living square feet, three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The exterior of the home features small details like corbels and cast stone accents at the entrance. Concrete barrel roof tiles complete the design.

The Anvard also won the BIA Pinnacle Award for Best Production Design in the Single family category between $1,000,000 and $1,499,999. The Lee Building Industry Association (Lee BIA), a not-for-profit organization representing Lee, Hendry and Glades counties, is a powerful voice for the building industry in the regulatory arena.
