Future of Luxury Home Design

Join Dan F. Sater II as he discusses some of the current Luxury Home Design trends. He will address these four topics and more!

1. Clean and Modern Styling is Back in Vogue

Gone are the days of heavy wood and stone! Now the trend is clean lines, lots of glass, and flat roofs.

For those who don’t want to commit to full on Contemporary, Transitional is the way to go. It’s a perfect blend of the more traditional pitched roof, but still incorporating the clean lines and openness of its more contemporary counterpart.

2. Casual Living is Still Going Strong

Formal areas are still less desirable. Most customers appreciate a large, open area - incorporating the entertainment area, kitchen, and dining. All of these spaces open to the outdoors with sliding or stacking glass doors. Entertaining has become a causal affair.

Office spaces have also been rethought. A formal study is no longer as necessary, being replaced with a more casual work space.

3. Guest and Family Comfort

Empty Nesters are often concerned about the comfort of their grown children or visiting guests. They want the bedrooms to be a good size with an ensuite bathroom. They desire their guests to feel special.

4. Places to Play and Park

A two-car garage used to be a luxury, but now a three-car garage seems standard. A four-car garage or more is the peek of luxury. They may be a car collector or they have boats, golf carts, etc.

The other area is play. Media Rooms have given way to Club Rooms or Flex Rooms. They have a sitting area, wet bar, room for a pool table, etc. It’s a large room that is able to accommodate various activities. The purpose is to allow everyone to hang out together while still being able to express their own interests.
