McKinney House Plan

In the flowing, festive style of a Mediterranean manor, the McKinney is a majestic villa and would make a 'grand entrance' in even the most exclusive neighborhoods. The defining characteristic of the McKinney facade is a stately pair of turrets, standing somewhat stoic and taciturn behind a grand carved and open entry, 'upstaged' by a pair of decorative columns. Just beyond, a magnificent set of carved double doors beckons.

French doors lead from the foyer to a cozy, octagonal-shaped retreat, the study. Imagine a comfortable chair at the end of a busy day, the sun's last rays streaming through three Palladian style windows. Two elegant rooms in which to relax become one when the leisure room's corner sliding glass doors are pushed aside, making room for a sprawling covered lanai with outdoor kitchen.

The lanai of the McKinney plan features a charming fireplace that creates a warm gathering place for family and friends. A trio of floor-to-ceiling windows in the Living Room opens onto the covered lanai. Only these well-placed windows separate the living room from the scenic landscape beyond.

The gourmet kitchen of the McKinney plan is more a work of art and a culinary masterpiece, perhaps, than a place for preparing meals, although it is certainly well equipped for just that with its hooded range, double ovens and roomy walk-in pantry. The glass-enclosed rooms of the rear elevation of McKinney defy the label "interior" space. From one side of the home to the other, the outside is welcomed in via expansive glass windows and retreating glass walls.

The theme of graceful arches flows into the master suite, as evidenced here by the arch-top bed niche. The Italianate-style master bath boasts a magnificent whirlpool garden tub. The McKinney plan offers 4302 square feet of living area, three bedrooms and three 1/2 bathrooms. The house plan is designed with a slab/stem wall foundation.
